February Check In

Before I get to my progress this past month, I'm going to answer the topic question.

How many projects do you generally feel comfortable having in progress at a time?  Tell us about your one-at-a-time or rotation habits!

When I first started stitching many moons ago I was a one at a time stitcher.  I worked on that single project until I was sick of it but it at least got finished.  As time has gone one I've started working on more than one project at a time.  I think the most I've ever had going at one time, and I mean with actual stitches in them, is twelve.

Currently, I have eight with stitches in and another eight kitted but sitting ever so quietly and patiently to receive their first stitch.  I have a rotation set up allowing two weeks to stitch on Mishra (HAED) and then a week to stitch on anything else that I have in my possession.  This seems to be working well so far but I'm starting to see that I'm stitching more than my two weeks on Mishra if the stitching is going well.  When I hit a confetti spot in the pattern and my two weeks are up, I need a break.

Now on to my progress.

And the progress this month with almost 3 pages completed:

I have a couple of other finishes as well.  I might have finished them at the end of 2013 or in the beginning of 2014 but never posted the progress.

First is the Halloween Season of the Witches.  This was stitched on 32ct Lugana PTP Flapper with 2 strands over 2.

Finally I have my Halloween Parade, stitched twice to account for the variation in saying and will eventually be turned into a pillow for Halloween.  This was stitched on 32ct OD Linen in Barnwood with 2 strands over 2.

Happy Stitching everyone!

WIPocalypse 2014 - January

Hello everyone, this is the first 2014 WIPocalypse posting and the topic is to introduce ourselves and our projects.  I'm Kris and live in Las Vegas, NV with two very sweet cats.  I am lucky enough to have finally found a great boyfriend and am enjoying spending time with him as well. I've been stitching for off and on for over 15 years.  I love stitching and find it very relaxing.  I'm lucky that I am able to stitch and listen to books on tape at the same time, I get to do two of my favorite things at once.

My goals this year are simple:

1.  Try to finish 15 of the 30 pages in the HAED Mishra design.
2.  Make as much progress on all of my other pieces on my WIP List page.

I would like to have fifteen of the thirty pages in the pattern completed as of December 31, 2014 so  I'm allowing myself a three week rotation.  Two weeks are spent entirely on Mishra and the third is for any of the million other projects that I have started or want to start.  I'm hoping that this rotation will help me meet my goal.

Here are the projects as they should look like when finished and what they stand as of today.
